1968 *SOUTH AFRICAN* 1st PRESS PYE LP

*ULTRA-RARE 18-TRACK STEREO & MONO LP*

This extremely rare 1968 original SOUTH AFRICAN 1st pressing is on the dark pink PYE label: PYC 2149

The LP contains 16 tracks, which includes the MONO single version 'Days' at the end of side 1.

Housed in a locally produced, front-laminated, bi-flipback non-gatefold 'Stereo Plays Mono' cover.

Mistitled labels - the word 'Society' is missing.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both surfaces are clean & bright bearing just some light sleeve removal marks and a single 2cms 'fingernail' scuff on side 1.
Close inspection under a halogen desk lamp reveals an occaisional light paper hairline but no other significant marks or any scratches.
Thick, sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat on both sides with no dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT

Clean, bright and clear sound with no trace of groovewear distortion or crackle in either channel on any track.
In fact, apart from an occaisional very light background soft tick between some tracks, there is no significant audible wear at all.
There are no heavy clicks, jumps or repeats anywhere.

Cover: VERY GOOD

Constructed of fairly thin card stock, this rare & unique cover listing 16 tracks, displays bright & unfaded colours.
There is some missing laminate across the upper area of the front panel and some laminate lifting towards the lower left area.
The corners bear light shelfwear but the opening edges are clean & sharp with no tears or 'feathering'.
The rear panel is bright & clean with no marks, writing or missing paper.
Both flipbacks are intact, both seams are strong & unsplit and the spine is clean & readable.
