Kinks Something Else UK Pye lp
Catalogue Number: NPL 18193 Mono
Matrix Numbers: 18193A1*M and 18193B1*M
The lp is in very good condition. It is shiny and lays flat on the turntable. There are a number of light surface marks but they do not substantially affect play. There is a little very light crackle in the run in and between tracks but nothing during tracks. There are no pops skips or jumps (play graded on a Projekt Debut turntable). These 60s pressings were made on heavy vinyl with deep grooves (making surface marks less of a problem than later pressings) and this lp sounds great.
The labels are excellent with some spindle marks but no writing stickers or tears.
The cover is in very good condition. The silver ink was a real problem on this lp. Often it turns up with ringwear that makes the cover illegible. Not this one. There is some ringwear and a little grubbiness near the spine on the front but nothing like the usual for this sleeve. There is a bump to the bottom left rear corner (see photos) and light wear to all corners. The cover is not mint but It is rare to find it in better condition.
I am not a dealer but am finally getting rid of my vinyl collection, almost all of it first pressings including (among many others) original 60s Stones, Beatles, Kinks, Animals, Dylan, Doors, Love and the Byrds; Stooges and Captain Beefheart first pressings; rare Floyd, Zep pressings; loads of krautrock and numerous UK Motown lps (mostly non-compilations).
