Description

Kenny Burrell on Blue Note 1543.

Second issue sleeve, without frame cover from 1959. In VG+ condition. Has some light wear to rear but remains clean and free of rips tears or staining. Nice and presentable.

Front panel is also nice and clean with a slight hint of ring wear/dirt from storage. Bottom right corner has a slight crease and top left corner has slight ding. Spine is fully in tact and the Andy Warhol designed sleeve looks fabulous.

This copy is not the frame construction but still has the semi gloss/non laminated cover as the original.

Disc has all the features you would expect from a late 50s blue note pressing.

Deep Groove on both sides.

Lexington address labels both sides.

Beaded Rim.

Hand etched matrices, RVG, machine stamped plastylite P/Ear, 9M in deadwax.

Side one condition is very nice. EX. Clean disc free of marks and retains a lovely gloss. Some very fine sleeve removal marks under bright light.

Side two condition is VG+ with a couple of marks which DNAP.

Playback has some light background and tics/pops here and there which may be removed with a deep clean on an ultrasonic or pro RCM.

I’d grade the disc VG overall due to visual marks and light background. It is an enjoyable listen and a nice copy.
