Discovered by Harlem singer Keith Sweat yet very much their own proposition, Atlanta trio Kut Klose issued Surrender in 1995 as their sole studio album. Produced by Sweat alongside H.O.P. Productions, Eric McCaine and Fitzgerald Scott, it distilled mid-90s r&b into something intimate and immaculately engineered. 'Get Up On It' unfurls over satin-sheathed bass and clipped drum programming, the trio's harmonies entwining with languid precision. 'I Like' balances radio gloss with restrained sensuality, while 'Lay My Body Down' and the title track lean into hushed, candlelit tempo. Even 'Sexual Baby' is less brash than suggestive, its groove coiled and deliberate. A quietly luxuriant artefact of 90s r&b poise.
