Kula Shaker present their 8th studio album, and again remind us why they live rent free in the heads of many people. Taking their own name from a 9th Century Indian poet-king, fans have long harped about the quasi-mystical tones of the group, even if they actually make exceptionally raucous guitar music that can and maybe should just be read on those terms. Wormslayer, like the outfit's preceding efforts, wants to suck us into a sonic whirlpool from the moment we press play. Tracks spiral around us, soar overhead, and run underneath, surrounding the soul and immersing the mind. While a lot of artists profess to make psyche, very few do it with this kind of delivery.
