KOSMONAUTENTRAUM “LIVORNO 1956” 12” IMPORT EP, from 1983 on ZICKZACK RECORDS, in a LTD. pressing on BLACK VINYL and long OOP!! A side project of ZIGGY XY (DER MODERNE MAN) KOSMONAUTENTRAUM played a style of NDW all their own, and following the release of a few singles, they had carved out a niche for themselves and their sound in the burgeoning German New Wave underground scene. In 1983 they released the “LIVORNO 1956” EP, which was followed shortly by their debut LP “JURI GAGARIN”. While the LIVORNO 12” was a move away from the sound of their astonishing debut 7”, the LV1956 EP found KOSMONAUTENTRAUM refining their, ultimately singular, brand of NDW which utilized vocal effects, spastic horns, jittery gits, and angular synth’s wrapped in post-punk arrangements to mesmerizing effect!! LP includes lyrics insert for those of you who read German!! Fans of IDEAL, GRAUZONE, NEON BABIES, DER MODERNE MAN, and ABWÄRTS take note: KOSMONAUTENTRAUM ist NDW!! Bid now!! Wave later!!
