History:

The first LP by THE KLAUS DOLDINGER QUARTETT (Jazz made in Germany, Philips-twen P 48024 L) released in 1962, was not only pronounced the best German jazz contribution of the year, but also developed into an international success. It was, in addition, the first record by a German jazz group to be released in the United States for a number of very lean years. Klaus Doldinger, who carries on in the tradition of Coleman Hawkins, Sonny Stitt, and Lucky Thompson, likes playing in public. Thus, this (his second) album was not cut in a studio, but was recorded live in Germany´s only jazz club with a genuine international profile: the "BLUE NOTE" in Berlin, on December 17th and 18th, 1963.
