-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The rusting chains of prison moons are shattered by the sun......." announced the late Greg Lake, reciting the brilliant fantasy lyrics of Peter Sinfield. An epic drama unfolds, worthy of a Lord of the Rings script, or an Avatar screenplay.
Epitaph tells of despondency and deep seated fears, morose desolation underscored by sweeping melotron, serene oboe, and Robert Fripp's talented acoustic guitar embellishments. It's sublime, evocative, supreme!
21st Century Schizoid Man is loudly forboding, desperation as expressed so adeptly by the enigmatic cover artwork.
The softer interludes are wonderful in their own right, in some ways they create the perfect soundscape for the 'dimensions' of this astounding album.
Like Miles Davis best work, the breaks are as important as the prominent passages.
VINYL is NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION,
TOP SHINE.
It's a lovely early issue copy of this record
Classic PINK "i" LABLES are bright and clean, NM-, no stains or pen, BEAUTIFUL!
GATEFOLD COVER in VG+ CONDITION,
Clean but with handling wear and a sticker removal damage to the front top right.
Please see photos.
Definitely a highly regarded release from the fantastic (and still vital performing) influential top Progressive Rock band.
