This auction is for a rare original pressing of Katatonia's "Discouraged Ones" LP on Avantgarde. This is NOT the recent repress with the mediocre sound, but the ORIGINAL version with high fidelity. This has been sold out for over a decade! Amazing, highly divisive record; when this came out no one knew what to think. Katatonia had previously played excellent doomish death metal with some progressive tendencies, but here on their third LP they used almost exclusively clean vocals for the first time and embarked on their journey into post-rock territory, losing many old fans while gaining legions of new ones. You either love this or hate it. If you love it and you don't already own the original vinyl version, now is your chance.

I hate to part with this, but I'm paring down some of my record collection for two reasons: I'm moving by July 1st into a much smaller room, and I'm unemployed. My loss can be your gain, so bid today or regret it tomorrow.
