"Crawling to Lhasa" von Kalacakra ist einer der wenigen deutschen Psychedelic-Klassiker. Die LP von 1972 - die verschiedentlich auftauchenden Angaben 1971, 1974 und 1977 entsprechen nicht den Tatsachen - ist mit ihrer Auflage von 1000 Stück unter Sammlern so gesucht (heutiger Wert etwa 700 € im Bestzustand), daß es schon mehrere Bootlegs davon gab. Die erste rechtmäßige LP-Neuausgabe ist nun auf 1000 einzeln durchnumerierte Exemplare begrenzt, kommt im edlen Klappcover und enthält ein vierseitiges Beiblatt im LP-Format, mit einer ausführlichen Geschichte der Duisburger Gruppe sowie zahlreichen Abbildungen, die die düstere und drogengeschwängerte Stimmung der Platte trefflich widerspiegeln; Dazu eine genaue Diskographie samt Cover- und Label-Repros. Das beste Stück ist wohl "Raga no. 11", "Nearby Shiras" aber das psychedelischste. Die beiden Bonus-Tracks sind die gleichen wie auf der CD.. 
Kalacakra's "Crawling to Lhasa" is one of the few German psychedelic classics. Their 1972 LP has become such an attractive collectors' item (today's value is 700 euros in mint condition) that several bootlegs have appeared on the market. The legitimate LP release on the Garden of Delights label is limited to 1000 numbered copies, comes in a deluxe gatefold cover and contains a 4-page colour insert in LP size, featuring a detailed history (in German and English language) of the Duisburg band together with a detailed discography, cover and label repros, and numerous photographs, which reflect the sombre, stoned atmosphere of the record in a perfect manner. "Raga no. 11" is probably the best track, with "Nearby Shiras" reflecting the most psychedelic aspect of the band's music. It is about the Black Plague raging in this Persian town hundreds of years ago.
