SLEEVE: The original heavy duty cardboard sleeve is in very good plus condition (VG+) with sharp corners and a clear readable spine. A little bit grubby as is common with these rough sleeves and some age spotting present at the edges.

INNER SLEEVE: The rounded corner rough cardboard inner sleeve is in excellent condition. Its clean & clear with sharp edges and just some light creasing. It also comes with a plastic poly liner to protect the vinyl from paper rub/wear.

VINYL: The vinyl itself is in VG+ / VG+ condition. There are a few hairlines and light marks present, but these do not affect play. There are no skips jumps or clicks etc.. Just some light background noise in some (not all) quieter sequences. This is the sought after 1st pressing which is pressed on translucent red vinyl, only differentiated from the black vinyl of later pressings when held up to a bright light source. (See images)

Info:

Closer is the second and final studio album by the English post-punk band Joy Division. It was released on 18 July 1980, through record label Factory, following the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis two months earlier. Closer is one of the first albums that was reviewed with the "gothic rock" genre.

The album cover was designed by Martyn Atkins and Peter Saville, with photography by Bernard Pierre Wolff. The photograph on the cover is of the Appiani family tomb in the Cimitero Monumentale di Staglieno in Genoa, Italy. In a 2007 documentary on the band, designer Peter Saville commented that he, upon learning of singer Ian Curtis's suicide, expressed immediate concern over the album's design as it depicted a funeral theme, remarking "we've got a tomb on the cover of the album!"

In all, a very rare and sought after LP in great condition. Good luck bidding. I will post asap after receiving payment - happy Christmas.
