Grade: VG

Super rare, obscure and great single from '59 or '60 on a tiny Ace subsidiary. Killer double-sider for those into early R&B/Soul stuff. The Gate is a cool upbeat organ groover and Only Fools Run Away is perfect midtempo: pounding beat, punchy horns and belting vocal. This one isn't in the guides, and I only found one previous sale. Primed to blow minds. Lots of light marks and some light surface noise but it plays through loud and great, just fine for DJing.

MINT: Usually reserved for unplayed, sealed stock, almost never used.
NM (Near Mint) : Like new, should have no audible or visual imperfections
EX or VG++ (Excellent): Visual imperfections like surface scuffs or inaudible hairline scratches, but should still play like new
VG+ (Very Good Plus) : Light marks will be present, as well as an isolated scratch. Average condition, used but not abused; should play well with little to no noise
VG (Very Good) : Marks, light groove wear, light scratches may all be present. Surface noise may be present but should not be distracting or overpower the music
VG- (Very Good Minus) : Significant marking, scratches, groove wear will be present, as will crackle and pops. Will play through but expect it to have some noise
G (Good) : Heavy wear, dull surface, as many scratches as grooves, very noisy. Has to be exceptionally rare to be offered in this condition.
