Johnny Morris, Reverend W. Awdry – The Railway Stories Vol. 1 (Spoken Word Children's Vinyl LP Record) (1972)
Fair British re-release.
Johnny Morris narrating several Thomas the Tank Engine stories, originally written by the Reverend W. Awdry.
This release features orange labels with boxed silver Decca logo.
Condition VINYL: F. Clean on visual inspection. Lots of obvious scuffing, hairline marks and scratches on both sides. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is only fair with lots of crackling and clicks. Run-ins have static/surface noise and crackling, also audible during quieter cues. However, the Johnny Morris vocals sound surprisingly good in places on this mono record despite surface noise. Plays ok with no skipping, jumping or sticking. Pen marks on one label side. OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: F. Colours are clear and unfaded on superb laminated front sleeve with paper back. A few veinlike creases across front laminate, creases in from spine and other sides; also on back. Corners lightly scuffed. Edges in decent shape. Spine has lots of splits. Aperture has a band of soiling and wear. Discolouration round edges on back. Stains on back. Letters handwritten by track names. INNER SLEEVE: EX. Poly-lined Decca paper sleeve with centre hole. Minor crinkling and creases but clean and intact.
