Description

This is the original deep groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Johnny Griffin “The Congregation” on the West 63rd labels of Blue Note BLP 1580.  The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once; five tics in the middle of the first track on Side 1.  The laminated West 63rd reverse-frame cover (with Andy Warhol artwork) is in excellent condition – bright and clean throughout; ½” wear/split on the top seam, at the opening; very slight wear at the top left corner; small writing at the top left corner of the back slick.  Personnel include Sonny Clark, Paul Chambers, and Kenny Dennis.  $1500.00.
