Here is a extremely rare LIMITED EDITION RCA VICTOR LPM-6015 2 x LP set titled "Stars of the Grand Ole Opry".Not too unlike about a hundred other country collections youve already got in your collection right? WRONG!! This set contains a 4 x 3 inch piece of fabric from the CURTAIN from the Grand Ole Opry.The ORIGINAL curtain.The one that hung there on opening night in 1925.The one one that hung there behind Johnny Cash as he booted every damn stage light to bits.It hung behind the very likes of the greatest country singer of all time Hank Williams and the greatest singing family of all time the Carter Family.Not to metion Chet Atkins,"Uncle" Dave Macon,Willie Nelson,Minnie Pearl,Kitty Wells,Patsy Cline,Slim Whitman,Jim Reeves,Pee Wee King,Hank Locklin,Hank Snow,Bobby Bare,The Browns,Skeeter Davis,Sonny James,Bill Monroe,The Stonemans,Connie Smith,Connie Francis,Dottie West and yes I could literally go on and on and on.My grampa Ted managed to snag this in the 60's when he worked at A&M records downtown Toronto.It was a promotinal gift that was given to the manager of the store.He was a Jazz and Blues fan and had no use for it and sold it to my Grampa and it was handed down to me when I started to collect records as a young man.I've had it for years and it's time to let someone else enjoy it.I tried to find out more info about it as its not a "promo" was it every sold in stores with or without the piece of curtain I just don't know.I cannot find it in any record guides like Goldmine or others.Records both grade VG+ or better!! Box is in great shape with very very little shelf wear.Large booklet is included.Front has small slot where you keep the piece of fabric.Booklet is in great condition but staples have rusted.THIS IS TRULY A PIECE OF AMERICANA!!!
