Description

LK 4804 1st UK pressing Original release 1966

Genuine vintage original and highly collectable !

Eric Clapton’s best ever album? Possibly and is renowned for the most definitive album of the 60’s on the British R & B scene.

The inclusion of Clapton in guitar helped Mayall reach a wider audience than the blues purists as Clapton had an already established reputation. Clapton was added to the album’s title to broaden the commercial appeal. This tactic worked and the album soared to no. 6 in the UK charts.

This album was phenomenal and acted as a starting ground for the greatest blues musicians of that era. Hughie Flint  on drums and John McVie on bass, exemplify just a couple of the influential artists of that time. This album showed the first time that Clapton was to have lead vocals on an album and what a debut album it turned out to be !!Many believe that this was Clapton’s very best performance as the playing from this icon is unbelievable on this album.
