"Out of all the Beatles, John Lennon had the most interesting and frustrating solo career. Lennon was capable of inspired, brutally honest confessional songwriting and melodic songcraft; he also had a tendency to rest on his laurels, churning out straight-ahead rock & roll without much care. But the extremes, both in his music and his life, were what made him fascinating. Where Paul McCartney was content to be a rock star, Lennon dabbled in everything from revolutionary politics to the television talk-show circuit during the early '70s. After releasing a pair of acclaimed albums, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, in the early '70s, Lennon sunk into an infamous "lost weekend" where his musical output was decidedly uneven and his public behavior was often embarrassing. Halfway through the decade, he sobered up and retired from performing to become a house-husband and father. In 1980, he launched a comeback with his wife Yoko Ono, releasing the duet album Double Fantasy that fall. Just as his career was on an upswing, Lennon was tragically assassinated outside of his New York apartment building in December of 1980. He left behind an enormous legacy, not only as a musician, but as a writer, actor and activist"..............

Both the record and the picture sleeve are in mint condition. Both have been in a plastic sleeve with cardboard reinforcer since Dec 28, 1970.

Grading: Please note: My visual grading standard is conservative. I will seldom use 'mint' condition to describe a record and sleeve because there are very few around that meet this condition. This grade means PERFECT, BRAND NEW.
Most often I will use 'mint minus' or 'very good plus' conditions. Mint minus (near mint) means a record/sleeve that is otherwise mint but has one or two very small flaws on the record or sleeve. Sometimes the record was never played at all.
Very Good Plus (excellent) condition means the record has been played or handled infrequently or very carefully. Sleeve shows signs of use and ageing. There may be some loss of lustre on the cover and maybe a light scratch on the record, but will not affect play.
Very Good (VG) condition means will display noticeable signs of playing and handling which resulted in loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches and groove wear. Sleeve will have small rips and light soiling. An owner who cared for records will have owned this record/cover. Not acceptable are serious tears, food stains, serious scratches and signs of abuse.
Unless a record/cover is unusually rare I probably won't have any items on eBay in less than VG condition.

Shipping and handling: I use U.S.P.S. first class mail. I will ship one or two 45's for $2.00 to any zip code. Three or four 45's are heavier: $3.25. I will give the best S&H price to bidders who have multiple high bids. Delivery confirmation is .55 more and insurance for $50.00 is $1.30 more. International bidders: S&H is $4.00 for one or two records via air letter post (airmail). All records are shipped securely to guard against breakage or damage. Shipments are made every day, except Sundays.
