Description

JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO - 'WEDDING ALBUM'

'Wedding Album' was the final in a succession of three experimental albums by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Released in 1969, it consisted of two tracks: side 1 "John & Yoko" - a recording of Lennon and Ono calling to each other, through a range of emotions, over the sound of their heartbeats. Side 2: "Amsterdam", the second side, consists of interviews, conversations, and captured sounds during the couple's famous "Bed-In" honeymoon, after being married on 20 March of that year

The set was presented inside an elaborate but extremely fragile box designed by John Kosh, who also designed the 'Let It Be' box

This 100% complete UK produced set comprises all the following all-original components

'The Press' - 16-page booklet containing copies of press cuttings about John & Yoko

'The Wedding' - 2-sided photo poster

A picture of their wedding cake

A large 2-sided poster drawn by John & Yoko

  'Bagism' white vinyl bag

  Photo-strip & postcard

'Wedding Album' - 12" vinyl LP (SAPCOR 11)

LP matrix numbers: SAPCOR 11 A-1 & SAPCOR 11 B-1

Earliest possible stamper codes: 1/G & 1/G

Vinyl weight: 149g

Housed in an outer-laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover

All of the above inserts are contained within a UK manufactured box with the wedding certificate pasted onto the underside of the lid

N.B. Unlike the U.S. box, this UK manufactured box does not have the catalogue number on the box's spine

CONDITION

Box: EXCELLENT

Tough to find this in anything approaching this condition as most fell apart after a few openings

The lid is clean with just a single tiny scuff mark from storage but is overall extremely clean with no other significant blemishes or wear

All corners are fully intact with no splits to any. The spine text of the lower edge 'Apple Records' wording and symbol are undamaged

The tray has just a single corner split but is otherwise clean & fully intact

Box Contents: EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT +

All pieces are 100% original. There is light handling wear to some of the paper items but no tears, writing or any major faults

Vinyl

Labels: NEAR MINT

Both are perfectly clean & unworn with just a single tiny spindle mark around each centre hole

Visual: NEAR MINT

Pristine, factory-fresh playing surfaces which are unmarked and 'as new' in strong daylight, with just a few faint wispy paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp

Sound Quality: MINT

Barely if ever played, the sound is flawless throughout

Cover: NEAR MINT

A superb unworn example with unscratched, high-gloss front & rear panels. Both inner panels are unblemished and there is no damage or wear to the spine or delicate hinge
