   For sale is a vinyl record by John Cougar self titled "John Cougar", originally released in 1979 by Riva Records, manufactured and distributed by Polygram Records. On the labels are the pressing plant Codes "72". In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers R-1/R-1, followed by "Masterdisk" and "PRC", signifying that this record was mastered at Masterdisk, of N.Y.C. before the first stampers were used to make this record at PRC recording Company's pressing plant, located in Richmond, Indiana. These etchings reflect state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the record. The inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of very minor corner blunts, small stress cracks along the spine, edge rubs and some ring wear. The spine has a couple of spots of color loss from stress cracks and rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus because of superficial sleeve marks, but still with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any surface scratches, scuffs or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this record between Very Good Plus and Excellent because of an occasional pop and super low levels of surface noise, most noticeable during the quiet sections of playback. It plays all the way through without any skips or lock-ups from start to finish. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This is the best copy that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, especially the rare PRC pressing. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.  I have a lot more Rock and Roll records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look.
