The records in this store are graded as accurately as possible to the Goldmine Grading standard.
The records listed have been cleaned. All unsealed records in this store are cleaned with the Record Doctor V cleaning machine and the Audio Intelligent Vinyl Solution 3-step process (if necessary). Nearly all will include a new inner sleeve, unless unopened. The original inner sleeve will be included unless it was generic.
Due to the large number of records that will posted, I have not been able to listened to the majority. I will verify the audio quality of media of significant value before its auction.
The record (media), inner sleeves, and outer sleeves (cover) will be placed in 3-mil poly album sleeves and shipped in heavy cardboard mailers.
IMPORTANT: Please understand that although efforts have been taken to provide a clean, accurately described item, these items are part of collection sell-off and may show signs of "less than optimal" conditions (i.e. water damage, pet cat damage, debris, etc...). Basically, these were part of a "hoard."
Tags, markings, and etchings:
- Some covers will have collection tags attached to the upper left-hand corner of the outer sleeve. I will leave these in place, as not to damage the artwork.
- Some covers and record labels may have ink markings, initials, etc...
- Some records will have the name "HIAWATHA" etched in the vinyl lead-out. This will not effect the playability of the media.
Goldmine Grading Standard
SEALED: Never opened ... never played. Still in original shrink wrap
MINT: Should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.
NM: Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just become evident: slight ring-wear, minoe denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should be noted properly.
VG+: The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or some of the original luster may be lost. A slight scratch that did not affect play would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.
VG: Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience. Usually a cover is VG when or two of these problems are evident: ring-wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.
G: Well played with little luster and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.
P: Any record or cover that does not qualify for the above GOOD grading should be seen as POOR. Several cover flaws.
Additional media (Records and Reel-to-Reel) will be posted all the time. I have 1000s to sell.
