Black Impulse with Red Border. Copyright 1972 on Label. Last year of Red Border Label. Does not have Edition II in runout. Does not have Van Gelder stamped in runout.

Note: The only 1972 entry of this on discogs notes a additional “ (Circled) 1 ... SXT ... A5“  in the matrix. This edition does not have those. 

Vinyl: (VG). Nice clean play. minor pops here and there.

    -Skips: none

        -Surface Noise:   After cleaning with a VPI machine, really not much that I could detect other than mild pops.

      -Scuffing: a very slight and superficial surface marks/almost slashes on side 2, otherwise I would rate this as VG to VG+. 

Cover: (VG-/G+)..  

   Ring Wear: n/a

        Scuffing/Marks/Rips/Tears/Blemishes. Some foxing and surface ring wear, mild corner wear. Back top of gatefold is split all the way. “Speedo” and an upwards arrow are written in pen ink. Has a certain bow to it (see pictures), I will flatten it (just the cover) for the next 7 days vertically for the heck of it and see if it gets any flatter.

Sleeve/Insert: ABC/Dunhill hype sheet with a crimp on bottom left and with some splitting on all sides. 

Spine: perfectly readable with a few splits, although it is offset (a printing error).

Any odd-seeming marks on the photos of the vinyl itself are purely glare from shininess of the vinyl reflecting back, all blemishes are otherwise reported and shown with a close up photo.
