Description
This rare double record set of Johanna Martzy is the Coup D'Archet reissue from 1998 of the WDR recordings, a very early pressing from that original initial print run. Very few were pressed, and the set features Martzy with Istvan Hajdu and Paul Szabo playing the Beethoven C Minor trio and Dvorak's 'Dumky' trio.
I bought two sets when they were first released, one for myself (which I enjoy immensely), and this set for my Father. Sadly his hearing had deteriorated by that time to such an extent that he was then (and still now, sadly) unable to enjoy or appreciate music in any form. This is particularly hard for him as he was always passionate about playing his viola, and he has not been able to do that, or enjoy his beloved chamber music for many years now.
This set has been sitting on his shelf, with many other of his records (which I will be offering for sale from time to time) and has never actually been played. The records themselves have never been out of the inner sleeves, and the inner sleeves never fully removed from the outer - you will notice that in the photographs this is still the case. The records are totally unplayed, and have never seen the light of day, let alone been placed on a turntable.
There is very minor damage to the outer sleeve, as can just be seen in the photographs. On the front cover there is a light indentation about two inches long and on the back cover a small dark mark about 1/2 inch long. Apart from that there is no damage at all. The outer cover edges are all unmarked, not damaged, and the cover creases are all crisp and clean. The spine is unmarked, and square-on to the front and back covers.
As you will see from my feedback, I am a genuine seller, and the item is genuinely unplayed, the records being mint.
The item is for sale elsewhere, so I reserve the right to end the listing early if it should sell elsewhere first.
The item is in the UK Midlands, but I'm happy to post worldwide at the buyer's expense, or courier within the UK. Collection is also an option if the winning bidder is near enough to collect. I have listed the item as 'collection only' but I am quite happy to post or ship the item if required.
I do not charge for packing, but postage / shipping and any insurance required will be at the winner's expense.
If you have any queries, do please ask.
Good luck.
