Description

Good/very good condition. Play wear and some visible light scratches. No deep gouges or chips. Visually graded only.
Up for sale is a foundational cornerstone of rock 'n' roll history: an original 1954 10-inch shellac 78 RPM pressing of Big Joe Turner and His Blues Kings performing "Shake, Rattle And Roll" b/w "You Know I Love You" on the iconic Atlantic Records label (Catalog #1026). This is a historic first-pressing artifact featuring the legendary New York session matrix code A-1209 on Side A and New Orleans matrix code A-1220 on Side B. Condition Details (Strict Visual Grading Only):

  • Visual Grade: Good (G) to Very Good (VG)
  • Shellac Surface: The record looks good and has been well-handled. It displays some visible light surface scratches and scuffs from normal use over the years. Crucially, there are no deep scratches, no chips, and no edge gouges.
  • Center Labels: In great shape! The classic red-and-black Atlantic labels are bright and crisp with minimal spindle wear.
  • Audio Disclaimer: Please note this record is being sold based on visual grading only and has not been play-tested. Expect typical vintage 78 RPM surface noise and crackle.
