Here is a rare record. Joe Houston’s Combo Records release (LP-400) Rockin’ At The Drive In. I’ve not played this but I would guess you can hear 50’s surface noise. Housed in a generic sleeve. Combo Records was run by Jake Porter from1951 until the early 1960’s in Hollywood, CA. Joe Houston, a tremendous R&B saxman, recorded for virtually every major independent R&B label in Los Angeles during the 1950’s. When the jump blues tradition faded, he segued into Rock & Roll, even cutting a twist and surf album. He was the “Wild Man of the Tenor Sax”.
