Jimmie Rodgers &
the LOUISVILLE JUG BAND
JIMMIE RODGERS, buff Bluebird B-5924, 78rpm, “My Good Gal's Gone” b/w JESSIE RODGERS (B side) “Leave Me Alone, Sweet Mama.” Condition; Ex/Ex- Nice labels.
For those of you who collect either Jimmie Rodgers or jug band music, I don't need to tell you how seldom this one turns up. The jug band consists of: CLIFFORD HAYES - fiddle, CAL SMITH - guitar, FREDDY SMITH - guitar, GEORGE ALLEN - clarinet and EARL McDONALD - jug.
CONDITION:
The record is visually graded as Ex/Ex- with the usual hiss, crackle, and pop – The music plays well above the background noise. There are minor scuffs and scratches, nothing major. The record plays through well. (Standard Docks/JJJ grading used). Aural grade will, of course, vary depending upon the equipment it is played on. Lots and lots of gloss left on this one.
Please be advised that the label scan -- while showing an approximately accurate picture, tends to show a somewhat degraded image of printed words, occasionally shifts colors and picks up glare, and usually gives an image which is at least a half grade or more below the actual quality. Still, the scan will give an over-all sense of the label’s condition. HERE THE COLOR OF THE SCAN IS OFF SOMEWHAT. THE ACTUAL LABEL IS THE TYPICAL BUFF BLUEBIRD COLORS AND THE PRINTING IS SHARP. VERY NICE LABELS.
