Description:  I have the pleasure of offering for sale on E-Bay the rare Jethro Tull’s first issue record album “Stand Up” on the very scarce and rare Black Block label 1st issue, second label variant.  This record comes from a family archive collection, which I am now putting up for sale, giving someone else the opportunity to purchase and own this rare record.

Record Sleeve:

The record sleeve is in near mint condition shows very little signs of wear, been kept in protective plastic sleeve since new.  This first issue gatefold record sleeve has a matt appearance with stand up band feature. The sleeve cover designed and printed from woodcuts by New York graphic artist Jimmy Grashow, name incorporated into front cover design– (See photos for information). 

Label:

The labels are in excellent mint condition with no writing or rubbing, the record shows very little spindle wear looks hardly played. (see photos for information)

Record:

Record condition report I have played the record twice both sides and it has excellent audio experience quality lies flat on the turntable, with excellent audio and sound quality. I would grade this rare Island record as near mint, comes with first issue matrix numbers A-B.  This is a rare record to find in this near mint condition, on the scarce and rare Black Block label first issue, second label variant from 1969.  (See photos for more information)

I am not a professional record dealer just selling family owned records, and have tried to give a full and honest account of the records condition.  My grading of this record is near mint condition with excellent audio and sound quality, and excellent quality record sleeve and labels.

The Record Grading

MINT:  The record itself is in brand new condition, I only grade sealed records in mint condition. The cover and any extra items are also unused in As NEW condition...

NEAR MINT:  A nearly perfect record, with only the slightest cosmetic flaw – no audible defect, Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.

EXCELLENT:  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.  The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional scratch.  Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
