Jethro Tull - A Little Light Music

(Chrysalis 3219541 1992 UK Double LP )

Here’s something really nice… an unplayed copy of Jethro Tull’s hard to find 1992 double live LP. In the early nineties record companies were involved in a cunning plot to phase out vinyl and force music lovers to buy CDs, thankfully their scheme failed but a lot of albums which were released at that time only had very limited amounts of vinyl copies made, this LP is an example of one of those. Because so few vinyl copies were made albums such as this are far harder to track down than a lot of the acknowledged and expensive rarities.

This copy came from the collection of a committed Jethro Tull fan who bought both the vinyl and CD versions on the day of release, he only ever played the CD version so this vinyl copy is in perfect unplayed condition, I’ve even resisted the strong temptation to give the record a spin myself so that it remains unplayed. It will be a long while before you see another vinyl copy of this album in this type of condition!

Condition: Sleeve M- / Records M

Sleeve:

Standard gatefold design made from thick unlaminated card.

The front sleeve is about as close to a perfect mint as you can get. Extremely clean, no tears, no writing, just one very small very light crease at the open edge near the top right corner, no other damage of any type, juts about perfect. There is a sticker giving the record details which should be removable with care but I’ve left it in place because I think this enhances rather than defaces the sleeve, if the buyer decides to remove it then that is their decision.

The rear in equally fine shape, very clean, no tears, no writing, no creases, just really nice condition.

Inside the gatefold is also in perfect very clean condition.

The spine is thick, clean and wide, totally unworn with all of the writing clearly readable.

The top seam is totally unworn.

The bottom seam is totally unworn.

Records:

The records themselves are in perfect unplayed condition and as tempted as I was they have remained that way.  I rarely grade anything as Mint but this is an exception.

I usually clean everything I offer on ebay on a professional Moth record cleaning machine and then play them to give an accurate assessment of the sound quality but I haven’t touched these. The guy I bought these off assured me that they were unplayed and when I took them out of the sleeves I can see nothing that contradicts that statement so I’ve just left them as they are, shop new! I doubt that you will ever get another chance at an unplayed copy of this album.

So, there we go, in the 17 years since it’s release I’ve only ever had 3 or 4 copies of this record and never in this condition, even the mint copy sitting on my own shelves would struggle to beat this copy for condition, I would guess that you will wait a long long time before a better copy than this one is offered so if you want a copy then this is the one to go for.

I’m also currently offering another hard to find Jethro Tull album “Roots And Branches” in the same unplayed condition as this, check out my other items. There will be a lot more Jethro Tull and related rarities to come too when I’ve had a chance to check out the conditions and compare with the copies in my own collection.

What you can expect from me:

Fast friendly communication, quick postage with good strong packaging and the record will be exactly as described above, if you disagree with my description of the condition then a full refund is available (sorry, no refunds if you don‘t like the music!).

What I expect from you:

Good communication and quick payment, any disagreement’s (not that I’m expecting any!) can be settled amicably.

Payment and postage:

I’d prefer cheques from UK buyers but paypal is available if necessary, overseas buyers must use paypal. I’m not responsible for any parcel after it leaves my hands, I will have proof that the parcel as posted and will help in any way I can in any dispute between you and the postal authorities. When posted the sleeve will be in a pvc sleeve with the record removed from the outer sleeve, there will be at least 3 usually 4 thick card stiffeners placed inside the package with the record and the packaging itself will be strong enough to prevent any damage in transit.
