Jerry Goldsmith, National Symphony Orchestra – The Great Train Robbery (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Vinyl LP) (1978)
Good US import.
The movie (1978, dir. Michael Crichton) starred Sean Connery, Donald Sutherland and Lesley-Anne Down.
Condition (refer also to notes at bottom):
VINYL: EX. Superbly clean on visual inspection. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is great throughout. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: G. Colours remain unfaded and bright. Lots of creasing and bending in all four corners. Major scuffing in these areas. Edges are partly worn and spine is damaged heavily on lower end, though intact throughout. Some creasing to front and disc outline. A few scuffs and dents. Reverse is clean but with similar damage to front, with creasing, folding dents and disc outline. Fully intact overall.
INNER SLEEVE: G. Original. 'Sunrise' coloured artwork both sides in pink, yellow and orange. Graphic one side and album catalogue thumbnails the other. Some creasing and folding, notably in one corner, and all three sides have splits in them. Clean and generally intact.

Review:
The Great Train Robbery is a freewheeling adventure yarn with a score to match, the music's brisk, lighthearted nature matching the suspense of the film itself -- there is much excitement and lots of musical chills here, which show Goldsmith's writing near its peak in terms of straightforward suspense.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
