Description
Jasper Wrath (self-titled) LP album by Jasper Wrath. Sunflower/MGM Records, circa 1971. This was an extremely popular Connecticut (New Haven) area band that went national following the release of this album. It is the crown jewel of all rare Connecticut band albums (a copy went for $52 last month here on eBay). The band was influenced by Yes, Gentile Giant, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Pink Floyd and they achieved their own unique sound. The band used medieval Rennaissance era styled lyrics. This album contains a cardboard lyric sheet, but the lyric sheet has two holes punched in it (cut-out?). However, the album and sleeve do not contain any cuts or hole. I remember a song they played live that cracked everyone up - it was called "Six Wide Inches," but it isn’t a part of this album.
According to Fuzz, Acid And Flowers: "For the most part the album comprises soft rock with lots of electric and acoustic six and twelve string guitars, organ, harpsichord, celeste, percussion, theremin and variable frequency oscillators. It mostly works quite well with Odyssey and Portrait: My Lady Angelina probably the finest moments. The closing track, Roland Of Montevere, veers far more towards progressivism."

I’m now parting with a batch of 1970’s Connecticut bands that I’ve hauled around and stored for all these years. All are in great shape and bring back some great memories. Now they could be a part of your collection. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the alumni of these bands would need or love to have a copy of these albums, so if you know anyone from any of these bands, give them a holler and tell them ... " dude ... your old album is on eBay!" Or, maybe buy it for them to spring on them as a great surprise. All of these albums are rare and hard to find. This might be one of the only times you will see them.
