Janis Ian's classic singer/songwriter album "Between the Lines" is presented here in a very rare Nimbus Supercut pressed audiophile LP from 1984, in pristine condition and ready to be enjoyed by any vinyl lover. This is the best sounding version of this album we've heard - "When the Party's Over" and "Light a Light" sound absolutely stunning on even a modestly set-up turntable. Audiophile Mastering

Nimbus Supercut LPs were released as a mail order only promotion to Practical Hi-Fi and Hi-Fi today magazine readers during the early 1980s. All Nimbus Supercut releases were available in limited quantities of around 1000 pressings per title, and as such, many are rarely seen for sale and are arguably rarer than releases from Mobile Fidelity, Nautilus, DCC, etc.

Nimbus established the need for high quality vinyl pressings at a time when most mainstream vinyl which was haphazardly mastered and pressed on poor quality recycled vinyl.

In contrast, Nimbus Supercut releases were mastered from the the original master tapes, through an all valve mastering process, using no limiting, to result in a high quality pressing which was as close as possible in sound to the original recording. Nimbus also had ICI produce an extremely pure vinyl for this release, which has exceptional frequency reproduction and is virtually noise free.

Condition

This is a one owner example LP owned by a fastidious record collector and originally recorded onto cassette and kept in his collection. According to Goldmine industry standards, the vinyl is near mint (NM). The cover and poly-lined inner sleeve are also near mint (NM/NM). Rarely available for sale - this is as close to a pristine example as you are likely to find.
