Description

Midas MR 005 issued 1972

Midas is the most collectable UK folk label and all the albums issued on the label had tiny pressings and almost non-existant distribution, which is why they are so difficult to find today.

This is the first album by Janet Jones issued in 1972 and it is one of the rarest and most sought after UK folk albums. Copies are only rarely offered for sale.

The cover has a little wear as the disc has left an impression on the cover whilst in storage. The disc itself is in mint condition.

Janet has a gorgeous voice and on this album she is backed by a small acoustic group and performs a mix of contemporary, traditional and self-composed material. Her own songs "The Bastard Of Normandy" and "The Old Woman's Lament" are really something special.

The album was produced by Folk Heritage supremo Alan Green (always a sign of quality) and I would guess that this copy was sold at a folk club as it is nicely autographed on the back cover.

Happy to ship anywhere on the planet ( by recorded air mail) and would prefer payment via Paypal.
