Description

Jan Dukes De Grey, Rats and Mice in the Loft

Original UK Transatlantic TRA 234 from 1971.

Killer driving heavy acid progressive psych folk masterpiece.
Features fantastic mix of driving tribal drums/percussion, masterful acoustic guitars and electric guitar, and horns.
Includes melodic classical elements mixed in with the heavy parts.
Evil vocals are anthropomorphic regarding the fatalistic life of rats and mice - a concept album gem.

one of the top 5 lps on this label.

EX / NM (Record / Cover)

Nice flat heavy disc has 2 very faint spindle marks on one label, otherwise the labels are clean. A1 / B1 matrix.
The mark you see on the label is not a spindle mark.  It is a mark left from the plastic clamp from my VPI machine,
it can be removed - forgot to wipe it off before taking the photo.

There is a moderate water mark on side 1 and a tiny water mark on side 2.  I think side two is by far the best side.

Side 1 plays with water mark noise for 45 seconds, a 45 second break where is plays good, and then 90 sec water mark noise.
The rest of the 1st 1/2 of side 1 plays plays EX+, the 2nd 1/2 of side 1 (Rats and Mice...) plays mint.

Side 2 has tiny 35 seconds of water mark noise at the beginning and the rest of the side plays clean (NM).

Beautiful laminated gatefold cover is nearly NM overall (close to being as new), has drill hole at the upper right,
and has square corners, clean spine etc.
