Description

Only a handful of the 100 pressed were ever shipped out Not everyone received their copy and the sites that were selling certain versions of it have stopped and can no longer be purchased or viewed and refunded/recalled their records im guessing it must be a copy write/label thing that happened during the shipping/production but it's 100% official re-issue of their classic but seems only a few made it to the public.I dunno what the situation is with the shipping and label but i know the 1974/1975 original is very very rare to even get hold of in any condition. If i find out more information i'll lets yas know.Thanks.........More heat from the Tidal Waves Music camp is Jade and their In Pursuit record from 1975, a definite grail in the private press funk and soul record world. This Norfolk, VA band has been a bit of a mystery, releasing a couple of forty fives and a full length on Pesante somewhere in the mid 1970’s. Consisting of heavyweight Carol Kaye (Wrecking Crew) on bass, her husband Spider Webb aka Kenneth Roland Rice on percussion, Paul Stallworth (Bobby Womack/ George Harrison), Greg Thomas, plus Steve Madaio on trumpet (Stevie Wonder). It can only be speculated that the only reason this record could not gain traction or a wider audience was because it was only released regionally. Too bad, because these top notch players know how to make music, and they’re spitting hot fire on all eight tracks. Both tracks you get to sample below, a cover of Santana’s “Evil Ways”, and “Heaven or Hell, You Got To Choose” are tight and out of sight all around. Listen to “Music Slave” as well below, it is a modern soul stomper that just does not quit. There is a reason that this original record goes for huge stacks. Not to mention the line: “Gotta smoke this joint and make this feeling last”. We wish the feeling could last, really. This record is a monster, and if you’re just hearing this for the first time, it’s ok if your mind is blown. This is the first official reissue and Tidal Waves Music is raising the bar higher and higher with a release like this. It’ll be available on a 180g deluxe vinyl edition as well as exclusive color ways from Light In The Attic (100 clear), HHV Germany (100 red), and Fat Beats (100 green). Don’t sleep on this record, it’ one that needs to be on your shelves Only the red version was released to a couple people before the recall over the copy write or other issuesRadio heads beware! Tidal Waves once again dug up a treasure from the 1970s. "In Pursuit" is the title of the record that Jade , a group of studio musicians, knocked out of their instruments in 1975, and so far was available at Discogs for 600 flakes. Quite a lot of money for a radio disc, which earned the tired forgotten backyard label Pesante Records a dime. This may have been due to the fact that the band did not perform live once, in addition to the slow promo. Jade consisted of session musicians. Not just any, but the very best from the West Coast, Carol Kaye, the legendary Wrecking Crew bassist from Los Angeles, whom Beach Boy Brian Wilson once said was the best of her time. Or Steve Madaio, who made a name for himself as a trumpeter for Stevie Wonder and later blew for the Stones in the sheet metal. But also on Taj Mahal and Karen Dalton albums drumming Greg Thomas. They sat down in the studio and recorded a record on which saxophones light, organs twinkle, and guitars caress hip-world championship chords that one wishes to return directly to the funk era. Nostalgic mode on: "In Pursuit" is available exclusively at HHV as a limited edition of 100 Red Vinyl Edition.......These were the only ones that got pressed and only a few of them were mailed out before the copyright legal issues/problems kicked off again and production selling of them stopped they are as rare as the original
