Description
Both sides of the record have NY USA address; 43 West 61st St. address at the bottom of the back cover. The record has "Van Gelder" inscribed in the edead wax, no "ear". Leader Jackie McLean, alto sax; Walter Davis, piano; Herbie Lewis, bass; Billy Higgins, drums. 4 tracks.
Cover: Fair+ Scotch tape has been applied to the spine thought there is no evidence of damage. There appears to have been some water damage to the bottom corner of the jacket a the insert edge and to a lesser extent to the upper corner at the insert edge. There is a small section of paper loss, about 1" triangular configuration on the back cover at the top of the insert edge (see picture). This tear does not affect the text. Also, a small section of paper loss on the bottom edge of the notes on the back cover. Light to moderate aging on the front and back cover. Date is written in small print on the insert edge margin of the back cover.
Record: VG++ to Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. There are 3 or 4 faint, brush-like surface rub marks on each side. These do not affect the sound and are barely visable. Several very faint clicks on Track 1, Side 1. These are barely audible. Also, 2 slightly more audible clicks on the last revolution of Track 1. There is a faint click at the end of Track 2, Side 1 with slight groove noise on the last 3 or 4 revolutions. On Side 2 there are 3 or 4 clicks on the first 3 or 4 revolutions on Track 1. The noise described is minor. Overall, fine condition. Audibly checked.
