This is a stereo original pressing of a rare and wonderfully adventurous 1964 LP by the late, great Jackie McLean.  The great undersung innovator of the trombone, Grachan Moncur III, is featured prominently throughout the record.  Indeed, 3 of the 4 compositions are Moncur’s (the 4th is McLean’s).

            SIDE B - “Kahlil The Prophet”; “Riff Raff”

 

Personnel:  Grachan Moncur III – trombone; Jackie McLean – alto sax; Bobby Hutcherson – vibes; Larry Ridley – bass; Roy Haynes – drums..

 

The vinyl is in just "so-so" condition.  Definitely not minty, but definitely not trashed either.  I played it in its entirety and did not notice any skips or serious issues, but there is noticeable surface noise throughout much of the record.  I was certainly able to derive a great deal of pleasure listening to it.

 

The cover is in pretty good condition.  It has the a little rubwear on both sides and the beginning of a small (1” or 2”) seam split on the top.  No writing or stickers.

 

Ridiculous minimum and no reserve.
