Jack Wagner, Capitol Records, Mint, Silver Platter #1

        From my days in radio promotion with Capitol Records I listed just the other day a disc from their radio series “Silver Platter Service” to see if anyone was interested in obtaining copies from the series.  Once again I was surprised to find an interest as there were several bids and questions within hours after the listing started.   I mentioned I would list several more if there was interest in the series so here I fulfill my promise.  From, I believe, 1967 we have for a no reserve auction a never played copy of “Silver Platter Shows 1 & 2” catalog # PRO 2026 & 2027.  There were recorded for radio monthly samplers before this release, but they were not called “Silver Platter” and had a different format.  I have several of those also and will make them available here in the future.  This particular disc has a silver color jacket that is a light weight chipboard when subsequent issues had the heavier cardboard stock with silver from and white back.  For some reason the inner sleeve is missing, but I’m sure I can find an appropriate substitute, however what I did find in the jacket, that makes this a unique find, and is included in the auction, is an original Capitol Records “Silver Platter” Program Questionnaire from Fred Rice (Capitol Records Merchandising Manager) to be filled out by the radio station in order to receive the service.  Artist featured on this disc are: The Four Freshmen (interview Ross Barbour), Tenn.
