JUNIOR THOMPSON - METEOR # 5029 - 45 RPM RECORD- MAMA'S LITTLE BABY/RAW DEAL
This is a 1956 release out of Meteor Records in Memphis, Tn. Junior Thompson and The Meteors. This was Juniors only release on the label. Tough record to find in any condition. Meteor records is still standing over on Chelsea Ave. It was located close to Buster Williams Plastics Products which served as a pressing plant for many companies in the Mid-South. Many artists from Sam Phillips Sun Records also came over to try their luck on Meteor. Charlie Feathers is a good example.
Matrix- MR-5044-45
Labels- Red Label. Ring wear on both sides with wear throughout. No writing, stickers or other distractions.
Playing Surface: VG- Both sides play completely through with no skips. There are numerous scuffs and scratches and occassional popping is heard in the play thru. This record was well loved and played but not destroyed. The Raw Deal side seems to have had slightly less play. Both sides still enjoyable to listen to.
This record books fairly high. Not in pristine condition but it's an original Meteor..part of the great Blues, Gospel, Rock N' Roll and roots music of this great Southern city!!! Bid it to Buy it!
This is a fine addition to any collection.
