Description
Available here is a 12” vinyl LP by Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures. It was issued by Factory in 1979 with the catalogue number FACT 40. This is a rather rare incarnation - visually black vinyl but translucent deep red if held against a strong light source. I've attempted to get a decent image of the colour, although this was no easy task. The "marks" on the disc are part of a plastic mount on which it was positioned for the photograph. I've also Photoshopped out the original background in an attempt to create a clear image.

Vinyl Condition - Very Good+ - The record is bright and clean - no worrying scratches or surface marks. Having listened all the way through, I can confirm that for the most part the quality of sound is pretty good - background crackle/noise is present at times and although never overly intrusive, may be heard during track breaks and quieter moments. All tracks play perfectly throughout apart from a short vocal skip about a minute into “She’s Lost Control.” I’ve given the record a good clean but as the issue persists, it may be a minor pressing blemish. Annoying as this is, this is still quite a rare and collectible record which often realises a three figure price.
Cover/Sleeve Condition - Very Good - Original textured Garrod & Lofthouse outer cover with light signs of wear, including corner/edge rubbing, stress creasing and a small abrasion to the front panel but no splits or tears. Printed inner is damage free but with light foxing (spotting). There is also a plastic cover present, helping to protect against further wear.

It is not my intention to profit from postage. If possible I use good clean recyclable material but I also buy bubble wrap, brown paper, packing tape and glue and all items are well wrapped and protected before posting. Items are also weighed and postage calculated before I list at auction and a small percentage of the charge does go towards packing costs.
