Seit über 13 Jahren das erste original neue Material des mit mehreren Grammy Awards ausgezeichneten Americana-Singer/Songwriters! Als Gäste sind Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires zu hören. Federführender Produzent war Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings, Colter Wall, Zac Brown Band, Lori McKenna, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell).
Prine begann seine musikalische Laufbahn Ende der 1960er Jahre als Folksänger in Chicago. Prines frühe Alben verschafften ihm Anerkennung in der Szene. 1981 gründete er gemeinsam mit seinem Manager Al Bunetta sein eigenes Label, Oh Boy Records. 1991 wurde The Missing Years eingespielt, sein erfolgreichstes Album, das mehr als 500.000 mal verkauft wurde und Prine einen Grammy einbrachte. 2003 erhielt John Prine den Lifetime Achievement Award der BBC und er wurde in die Nashville Music Hall of Fame aufgenommen. Der Rolling Stone listete Prine 2015 auf Rang 94 der 100 besten Songwriter aller Zeiten.
