Bare Wires was the first Bluesbreakers album of new studio material since A Hard Road, released 16 months before.
In that time, the band had turned over entirely, expanding to become a septet.
Mayall's musical conception had also expanded -- the album begins with a 23-minute "Bare Wires Suite," which included more jazz influences than usual and featured introspective lyrics.
The album became Mayall's most successful ever in the U.K., hitting number three

LABELS: NEAR MINT
Clean, unmarked labels - a couple of spindle traces
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces shine like-new
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Sounds wonderful and plays with little to fault - just the (very) occasional low-level tick noted - barely worth a mention - and I did not clean this copy as it looks so immaculate so these will no doubt disappear after a clean/few spins - great copy
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
Crisp, clean, sharp and fresh - very slight rub to the bottom edge - nothing really - really fine example
