Description

Often overlooked as one of the best examples of British Blues ever recorded - in my humble opinion this is Mayall's masterpiece.  I have acquired a second copy of this album and so will sell this one - which is actually the better of the two in my collection.
Musicians on the album represent the very best of jazz and blues in the UK in this era:
Chris Mercer on tenor and baritone saxesDick Hekstall-Smith on tenor and baritone saxesJon Hiseman on drimsHenry Lowther on cornet and violinMick Taylor (later of the Stones) on guitarsTony Reeves on string bassJohn Mayall on just about everything else!
This is the rare UK first pressing (LK.4945; runouts: ARL- 8340/1-1A). There are some visible scratches on the vinyl surface and some slight surface noise can be heard between tracks but otherwise there is no spoiling of the sound quality which is excellent on Decca's 'full frequency range pressings' of the late 1960s. Even though this is a MONO pressing, the sound quality is far ahead of most vinyl pressed today.
There are no skips or jumps and very little groove wear as this copy has not been played as often as my other copy.
The cover is great with little wear. Slight stain to the rear cover, but this does not spread to the photos which are clear and bright on front, rear and insides. No writing or marks on cover or labels.
The record even has its original inner sleeve.
Superb example and very competitively priced.
