Issue : UK 1st Press Pink Rim
This is the UK 1st press of 'Solid Air' by John Martyn. This rare press is complete with the earliest Island pink rim label, the earliest A1/B1 matrix and the matt gatefold MacNeill press sleeve.
The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a stunning high gloss, with a couple of marks and a few hairlines. On playing the sound is very clear, with little a little noise and a couple of pops on the marks otherwise it is extremely rich and vibrant. The pink rim Island label is completely clean with bold colours, bright white and clear text. There is only the slightest spindle wear.
The matt gatefold MacNeill press sleeve is in Excellent condition. The black is exceptionally bold and the image is sharp. The white text is still bright and the edges are very firm. The inside has a little ringwear but is otherwise is in new condition. There is just very slight corner wear. The whole cover feels exceptionally solid and the spine is firm with clear text.
