TITLE/ARTIST: This rare 45/PS by the legendary ex-Beatle, John Lennon, is on the original Apple Label - the Side B ("Why") is by his wife, Yoko Ono, and both sides credit his Plastic Ono Band on both the jacket and label. This was one of his very rarest picture sleeves and the combination sleeve/record is in superb overall condition - both the vinyl and the hard to find picture picture sleeve (please see the pics above and read on). The 45 is entitled "Mother/Why" from early 1970, and is in stereo as you would expect. In addition to the picture sleeve, I have included a regular Apple Records company sleeve as a "throw in". Please check the my other listings as well as this is just one of many old, rare and collectible 45's/PS's/EP's I'll be listing in the weeks and months to come - thank you in advance! LABEL INFO: This original Apple (1827) is super clean and nice, and shows no signs of having ever been played much at all. I don't see any spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me very little, if any, actual play. VINYL INFO: The vinyl is also super clean and nice with nothing in need of any mention either. It too, looks as if it may never have been played, although I obviously don't know that for sure. PICTURE SLEEVE: The very hard to find picture sleeve - which is what makes this whole package so collectible and desired - is also in excellent shape. There are a few small wrinkles/crease lines across the very top seam, but these seem to be quite minor, and otherwise it appears to be just fine (again, see the pics above). INTERESTING FACTS: Yes, in my opinion, this rare 45/PS combo is very clean and nice - not to mention how difficult it is to find, so please have at it. These are U.S. rates only, and all foreign winners will have to await an email me for their exact costs, although I will send a detailed invoice as soon as the auction is over---but, there too, it is cheaper to send multiple pieces.
