JOHN LENNON Sings the Great Rock &Roll Hits Roots 1975 Original press Adam VII LTD A8018
After recording a Rock n'Roll album Lennon gave a rough mix copy to publisher Morris Levywho owned many of the songs and he persuaded Lennon to allow him to market it as a TV sales LP. Capitol did not wish to give up the tapes, however, and Levy released it anywayfrom the rough tape. Lennon and Capitol sued and gforced Levy to take the album off the market. Ironically only about 3000 copies sold (probably the poorest Beatle related sales ever) Which makes originals rare, having been bootleged many times This version fits ALL the criteria for being an original 1 the word Great is on the spine copy 2 printed on white posterboard 3 the flesh on Lennon's shopulder is showing 4 Stereo is clearly printed on the cover 5 Back album covers are perfectly clear 6 thin vinyl 7 standard size label 8 machine stamped Bell Sound logo 9 matrix A8018
