Description
Vintage 1964 vinyl LP of John Lee Hooker's live recording from the 1964 Newport Jazz Festival, titled "Concert at Newport." This high-fidelity, mono pressing on the Vee Jay label, number VJLP-1078, features deep groove and microgroove. It has a Vee Jay oval logo and a rainbow outer ring on the labels. The record is in overall (VG+) condition, with a few surface scratches and scuffs. It plays through nicely with some light background noise and sounds great. It sounds better than it looks. The cover is in (VG) condition, with some corner-edge surface wear and some light stains. Please see the pictures. This first edition and first pressing from 1964 showcases John Lee Hooker’s band on electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums, capturing the essence of the Chicago Blues style he is famous for.
All opened vinyl albums are shipped separate from their covers, come with an anti-static inner sleeve, 3 mil protective outer sleeve, are packed carefully and shipped in a sturdy cardboard record mailer with cardboard cushion-spacer sheets.
