JOHN HICKS – Hells Bells (1980) Strata-East-8002 – EX/M- (cover/vinyl)
A rare late release on the great Strata-East Records jazz label. Despite the late release, this session was originally recorded in 1975 by the pianist John Hicks joined by Clint Houston on bass and Cliff Barbaro on drums. There are four cuts, “Hells Bells,” “Avojca,” “Yemenja” and “Angies Tune.” I don’t see this one around like I used to. Cool session recorded in London.
This is a beautiful copy. The cover is tight and intact with only slight ring wear and a cut corner that’s a little larger than you usually see. The vinyl is beautiful and looks unplayed. I grade this conservatively: EX/M- (cover/vinyl).
