The visitors of our eBay pages know that we take a dim view of the concept of "White" Blues. For most part, the notion is just --  (with apologies to Dr. Joycelin Elders) – a Caucasian mast*rbation, and not much else. It's not that white folks (of which we are proud card-carrying members) cannot feel the blues vibe - it's just that most of them have been too shielded from the harmful impact of life, and simply cannot relate to the blues experience. But then, it also helps explain why young Black people in this country can't play blues either - they, too, have been too pampered to feel the agony of their ancestors. Blues and Hip-Hop don't mix well.

Having said this, we must point out numerous noble exceptions that warrant an honorable mention here: the list is actually pretty long, but we think that John Hammond, Jr., Alexis Corner, Keef Hartley, Savoy Brown, Peter Green, Duane Allman, John Mayall, Ry Cooder, Mike Bloomfield, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Graham Bond, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Burdon and Bonnie Raitt deserve to make it to the Dean's list. Rolling Stones should also be included,  for their great love of the genre which they greatly helped propagate.

·       THE RECORD

 (IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS EXCELLENT. This is one of those albums that are somewhat difficult to grade. It is somewhere between VG++ and NEAR MINT, just a notch below NEAR MINT. A few light abrasions ARE visible, but they are extremely shallow, superficial  and only moderately visually distracting (nothing significant).For the most part, the vinyl looks impeccable without any MAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(c)           The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)          Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more  preferable to its stereo counterpart. We think that the mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and that the mixes are somewhat different than on the stereo version. We estimate that stereo copies of this album outnumber mono pressings by a ratio of at least 3:1.

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·                               THE COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a small cutout hole in one of the corners

-        Cover shows some light yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

-        Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine  (nothing significant)

-        Cover has a minor wrinkle (crease) in the cardboard base on the front panel

-        Cover has one corner slightly dinged (nothing significant)
