Description

Up for auction is a very clean copy of the John Coltrane album "Lush Life" released on Prestige Records (PRLP 7188) in 1961.  This is a genuine, original deep groove, mono first pressing, with RVG stamped in the run-out.  Matching and correct Bergenfield, NJ address on labels and back cover.  Comes with the original Prestige factory inner sleeve, along with an audiophile sleeve for proper storage.  Album is in fantastic shape.  Cover still retains its original high gloss laminate shine.  No real signs of any ring wear loss on either the front or back.  Lamination is intact, with no tears or bubbling.  Seams are strong, no cracking, no flaking, no splitting.  Printing on spine is perfect.  Corners are sharp, no bumps, but each shows a tiny amount of chipping (see photos) and a little rubbing.  One tiny chip middle top seam.  Back cover is bone white clean, hardly a mark on it.  Faint factory inspection stamp in lower right corner.  Very attractive cover overall, very clean.  I'd grade it Near Mint Minus- (NM-). The vinyl is also in super nice condition, hardly looks played at all.  Nice high gloss finish and luster, no rubbing or abrasion losses.  No obvious scratches, scuffs or marks to speak of.  May have some faint superficial signs of being taken in and out of paper inner sleeve, but it's hard to tell under normal light, and there is no effect whatsoever on play back.  Labels are clean and bright, unmarked.  Side B has a couple very tiny pressing dimples, but I've play tested this record, and they do no affect play back on my turntable (Oracle Mark V).  The sound quality is very high, nothing really to distract you from the overall listening experience.  I'd grade the vinyl Near Mint Minus (NM-).  I bought this copy from Fred Cohen at the famous Jazz Record Center in New York City years ago.  He graded this album the same as I have--it's been in my archive ever since.  You'll be the first to play it in about 20 years! 100% satisfaction guaranteed, no risk buying, no questions asked.
