JOHN COLTRANE Blue Train Blue Note BLP 1577 Mono LP 2nd Pressing 1958 Deep Groove 47 West 63rd
You're bidding on a 2nd Pressing LP of the classic JOHN COLTRANE album Blue Train issued by Blue Note
Records BLP 1577 in 1958. 1st Pressings from November 1957 have New York 23 printed on the Side 1 or Side 2
label after the 47 West 63rd address and the front cover has more of a greenish/blue tint to it. This 2nd Pressing
from 1958 has Deep Groove Labels with the address listed as 47 West 63rd. NYC. Also, there's No R (for
registered) under the E in the word Note which started with 3rd pressings. The dead wax has RVG along with a P
for Plastylite (sometimes referred to as a Ear) stamped in the run-out groove and has BN-LP-1577 A or B along with
9M etched in the wax. The Record is in VG+ condition with just a few small scratches audible in the beginning of
Side 1. Occasionally, you can hear some crackling for a second or two but generally speaking, this Album sounds
fantastic. The few other light scratches and surface marks that are visible are Not audible. The Cover is in VG+
condition with some light rub marks and a bend in the upper left front Cover that caused some creasing and damage
to the top of the spine. The Back Cover has a small line from a pen under the word Fidelity and the letters MR
stamped twice next to the word Train. All in all, this is a wonderful example of a 2nd Pressing Copy of this Amazing LP.
