 WOW! This is a great hybrid lp from the late 60's by John Berberian, master of the oud. Great Fuzz inflected rock/jazz/folk fusion, all played with a middle eastern style. Released on Verve records, Stereo. Vinyl and Cover are in Excellent condition, plays great, cover has a neatly punched promo hole in bottom left corner. This is essential stuff.

NOTES:   Yep, it's John Berberian, Master of the Oud! Long before there was any such thing as "World Music", John was experimenting in his native New York City, both within the traditional Armenian music community, and with folk, rock and jazz musicians who admired his Oud artistry.

And so this unknown gem, Middle Eastern Rock! Unsympathetically packaged as almost some kind of old-school belly-dance meets raga rock record, it is in fact a masterpiece of the highest order. Full of multi-percussive grooves on drums and dumbeg, searing solos from fuzz guitars and of course, John on the Oud. We cannot urge you more to experience this record!

GRADING: I ususally only Use Near-Mint (Like New), Excellent (Close to Near-Mint but maybe a few slight marks on the vinyl or general shelfwear to the cover) and Very Good (don't sell VG records unless they are older or hard to find - some may fall in between VG and Excellent and I'll try to note this. Sometimes I'll play the lp first if I think it may be VG or in between VG and Excellent.
